Volunteer Driver Program
The Volunteer Driver Program was started in March 2008 and is intended to meet the transportation needs of all Hinesburg residents.
Rides are provided to the elderly or disabled who need rides to doctors’ appointments, therapy, grocery store, post office, bank, etc. Also, rides are provided to anyone who may have a temporary injury, car trouble or any other approved need.
Special Services Transportation Agency (SSTA) performs a thorough background check of all our volunteer drivers and also schedules rides and dispatches the drivers.
If a ride is needed, contact SSTA at least 48 hours in advance and a ride will be arranged. All drivers are Hinesburg residents and extremely nice, helpful folks! The drivers use their own vehicles and mileage reimbursement is available upon request.
