Guaranteed Ride Home Benefit
The following program is managed by GoVermont and the www.connectingcommuters.org website. To register for the program please follow the guidelines. Being registered with Hinesburg Rides does not sign you up for the program, though we are working on integrating with them.
Knowing that even the best-laid plans can change unexpectedly, Go Vermont created Guaranteed Ride Home (GRH), a benefit for registered carpoolers who rideshare at least two days per week. If you face an unforeseen change of plans such as a work-related or family emergency that prevents you from traveling via your carpool, GRH reimburses travel fees up to $70. You are entitled to use this benefit up to six times each year, but not more than twice in a single month.
Once your carpool is established, each member must register with Go Vermont to qualify for the Guaranteed Ride Home benefit.
To register your carpool with GoVermont, click here.
Here’s how it works:
- In the event that you cannot travel via your carpool, use public transportation, a taxi or a rental car, and pay for it yourself.
- Mail the original receipt(s), OR call the phone number in below in #3. Fill out the Go Vermont reimbursement form (www.connectingcommuters.org/sites/govermont/files/GRHBlankReimbursementForm.pdf) and a brief description of the situation to Go Vermont.
